At Emerge, we understand that your freight is critical to your business. To help you feel confident in the carriers and brokers you choose to work with, we have implemented a thorough carrier verification process for the Marketplace. Below is a detailed overview of the verification steps we take.
Carrier Verification Criteria
Before any carrier can provide rates within the Marketplace, they must meet the following criteria:
1. Operating Authority
The carrier must meet inspection criteria by having at least 24 consecutive months of active authority and 1 Department of Transportation (DOT) inspection.
2. Safety Rating
The carrier must have a “Satisfactory” safety rating, or no safety rating (denoted as "None").
3. Industry Reports
The carrier must not have any industry reports indicating:
Holding a load hostage
Unresolved claims
Fraudulent activity
Double-brokering a shipment
4. Insurance Requirements
The carrier must have:
$100,000 Cargo Insurance
$1,000,000 Auto Liability Insurance
Contingent Coverage
In addition to these requirements, Emerge provides contingent coverage in case the carrier’s auto or cargo liability policies fail to activate as required.
Need Additional Insurance?
If your load requires more insurance coverage than what is provided by the carrier, please reach out to your Emerge Representative. You can easily contact them by using the chat box located in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen.
FAQs: Accessing the Emerge Load Board
Why can't I see the Emerge load boards after being verified?
Access to the Emerge Load Board may be temporarily paused if your Certificate of Insurance (COI) is nearing expiration. To resolve this issue, ensure your COI is up to date and submitted by your provider to our Compliance team at [email protected]. Access will be restored after review by the Compliance team. The COI must be current and list EmergeTech as the certificate holder. Additionally, carriers must meet all other platform compliance standards, which include complete accuracy in submitted documents and adherence to inspection requirements. Your updated COI must list Emerge as the certificate holder and be dated with the current day. Make sure that the coverage aligns with the number of trucks registered with FMCSA. For example, if FMCSA records indicate 5 trucks, your policy must reflect coverage for 5 units.
I completed my Highway link, but I still can't see the Load Board. What should I do?
To view the Load Board after completing your Highway link, please ensure the following:
Check the platform view: Make sure you are looking at the TMS (Transportation Management System) side of the platform.
Wait for compliance review: After completing the Highway link, it can take up to 2 business days for the Compliance team to review your packet.
Contact the Carrier Team: If you still don’t see the Load Board after 2 business days, please contact the Carrier Team at (602) 635-1340 for further assistance.- Ensure your COI is current and has been sent by your insurance provider to [email protected] for verification purposes. Without it, you may not be able to access the Load Board
Procedure to Restore Access
Restoring access to the Emerge Marketplace can be done by following these steps:
Update and Submit Your Certificate of Insurance (COI): Ensure your COI is renewed and compliant with EmergeTech standards. Upload the updated document for compliance review through your account portal or email it to the Compliance team.
Verify Compliance with Additional Requirements: Beyond submitting your COI, carriers must also confirm adherence to other platform eligibility criteria, such as inspection standards and fulfilling any additional compliance submissions.
Coordinate with the Compliance Team: Work closely with the Compliance Team to rectify any discrepancies or missing information. Reach out for clarity or assistance if needed.
Resolve Compliance Issues Before Reapplying: If you were previously disapproved due to safety or out-of-service issues, resolve these concerns before submitting a new carrier packet for review.
Additional Notes on Compliance
The automatic removal of access is a safeguard to ensure the platform's compliance standards are met at all times.
To avoid any service disruption, it’s recommended to update your COI well before its expiry date.
Keep a close watch on your COI’s expiration date and reach out to Emerge Support if you have any questions about the submission process..
Resolve any unresolved issues, such as safety violations or out-of-service incidents, which can affect your eligibility. Addressing these concerns is crucial to meeting the carrier eligibility criteria.
Fulfilling all ongoing eligibility and compliance requirements is critical for sustained marketplace access. This includes periodically confirming that all documents are accurate and verifying adherence to any updated platform standards.
