This article is for Carriers who manage tenders and shipment tracking directly in the Emerge Carrier TMS (Transportation Management System). It walks through both steps you'll take after a Shipper awards you a load: accepting the tender, then keeping its status and location updated until delivery. It's especially important if you submit bids through an Integrator Partner (IP) or a third-party load-board aggregator, since automating your rating or bid submissions doesn't automate tendering or tracking. Unless you've separately set up an automated integration for those steps, you'll still need to log into the Emerge Carrier TMS to accept the tender and update shipment status and location.

Emerge also offers API and EDI connections for Tendering and Tracking, so tenders and status updates can flow directly from your own TMS instead of requiring manual entry. Reach out to our Support team using the chat bubble (bottom right) for more information.
Otherwise, here are the instructions on how to Accept a Tender and Update Shipment Status and Tracking through the Emerge application:

A tender is the formal offer a Shipper sends to a Carrier once a load has been awarded. Accepting a tender confirms that you'll haul the load; rejecting it declines the offer.
Step 1: Receive your tender notification
After a Shipper awards you a quote opportunity, Emerge sends a tender notification. You'll receive this notification by email.
Step 2: Log into Emerge
Go to login.emergemarket.io and log in using the same email address that received the tender notification. Logging in with a different email address may prevent the tender from appearing in your account.
Step 3: Open the tender
Once you're logged in:
Click the Manage tab.
Click Tenders.
Click the specific tender you want to review.
Step 4: Accept or reject the tender
Review the tender details, then choose one of the following:
Click Accept to confirm you'll haul the load.
Click Reject to decline the tender.

Once you've accepted a tender, the Shipper will expect you to keep the shipment's status updated as it moves from pickup to delivery. You can update tracking either automatically with Mobile tracking, or manually by entering updates yourself.
Step 1: Open the shipment
Go to the Manage tab, click Shipments, and select the shipment you want to update.
Step 2: Choose a tracking method
On the shipment page, click Add Tracking Method and select one of the following options:
Manual
EDI
Automated (Macropoint)
Step 3: Update the truck's location (Manual tracking only)
If you selected Manual tracking, update the truck's location multiple times per day while the shipment is IN-TRANSIT to stay compliant with the Shipper's tracking requirements.
In the Tracking section of the shipment page, click UPDATE TRUCK LOCATION.
Enter the current location by searching the city and state, or the zip code, then enter the date and time.
Click Save.
Each time you save a location update, it adds a location marker to the Shipper's tracking portal so they can see the shipment's progress.
Step 4: Update stop times (Manual tracking only)
In the Stops section of the shipment page, click Edit Stop Times to update the pickup and delivery details for each stop:
Enter the ETA (estimated time of arrival), Actual Arrival, and Actual Departure times for the pickup stop.
Repeat the same process for the Actual Arrival and Actual Departure times at the delivery stop.
Click Save after each update.
All times must be entered in 24-hour format (for example, 14:30 instead of 2:30 PM).
How stop updates change the shipment status
Emerge automatically updates the shipment's status based on the times you enter in the Stops section:
Entering Actual Arrival at the pickup stop moves the status to AT SHIPPER.
Entering Actual Departure at the pickup stop moves the status to IN-TRANSIT.
Entering Actual Arrival at the delivery stop (the consignee, or the party receiving the shipment) moves the status to AT CONSIGNEE.
Entering Actual Departure at the delivery stop moves the status to DELIVERED.
