Introducing: Emerge AI Chat

Emerge AI Chat is an intelligent assistant that helps you get instant answers and insights about your shipping data. Available for both TMS and RFP (coming soon!) Shippers on the Procure OS Pro plan, this feature allows you to ask natural language questions about your freight network and receive data-driven responses in real-time.

Instead of manually building reports or waiting for analytics support, you can simply ask questions like "What were my total freight costs last quarter?" or "Which carriers performed best on my East Coast lanes?" and get immediate, accurate answers pulled directly from your Emerge data.

Emerge AI Chat is powered by advanced AI technology and is designed specifically for Pro plan customers who need quick access to shipping insights without the complexity of traditional reporting tools.


How to Access Emerge AI Chat

Requirements

To use Emerge AI Chat, you must be on the Procure OS Pro plan. This feature is available in two areas:

  • RFP (Coming Soon): Ask questions about your RFP events, carrier bids, network partners, and procurement data

  • TMS: Ask questions about your shipment data, carrier performance, and operational metrics

Important Note: RFP data and TMS data are kept separate. When you use Emerge AI in the RFP section, you can only access RFP-related information. Similarly, the TMS version only accesses TMS data.

Accessing the Feature

  1. Log into your Emerge account and ensure you have Procure OS Pro enabled.

  2. Navigate to either your RFP or TMS section, depending on which data you want to query.

    1. TMS - Go to Reports > Emerge AI

  3. Look for "Emerge AI" in your side navigation menu. Click on it to open the chat interface.

    1. Note: If you see message asking to upgrade instead of the chat, this means Emerge AI has not been enabled for your organization. Click 'Learn More' and an account manage will reach out with next steps

Asking Questions

Simply type your question in natural language, just as you would ask a colleague. Emerge AI understands context and can interpret various ways of asking the same question.

Examples of Questions You Can Ask:

For RFP users:

  • "Show me all carriers who bid on my Q4 RFP"

  • "What was the average bid rate for lanes from Chicago to New York?"

  • "Which network partners have the best performance scores?"

  • "Compare carrier responses across my last three events"

For TMS users:

  • "What were my total shipping costs last month?"

  • "Which carriers had the most on-time deliveries?"

  • "Show me shipment volumes by lane"

  • "What's my average cost per mile for loads over 500 miles?"

Providing Feedback

After each AI response, you'll see thumbs up and thumbs down buttons. Please use these to rate the quality and accuracy of the answers you receive. Your feedback helps us continuously improve the AI's performance and ensures better results for all users. The Emerge team may review feedback to identify areas for improvement and may reach out to assist with any issues.

Follow-Up Questions

Emerge AI remembers the context of your conversation within the same session, so you can ask follow-up questions without repeating information. For example, if you ask "What were my shipping costs in October?" and then follow up with "How does that compare to September?", the AI will understand you're still talking about shipping costs.


Important Information and Limitations

Data Freshness

The data available in Emerge AI may have a slight lag from real-time. While we work to keep information as current as possible, there may be a delay between when data is entered into the system and when it becomes available for AI queries. Always verify time-sensitive information if you need the most up-to-the-minute data.

AI Accuracy Disclaimer

While Emerge AI is designed to provide accurate information, AI technology is not 100% perfect. Always verify critical business decisions with your actual data in the platform or consult with your Emerge account team for important questions. The AI is a helpful tool for quick insights but should not be your only source of truth for major decisions.

Privacy and Data Security

Your conversations with Emerge AI are secure and private to your organization. Only users within your organization who have access to Emerge AI can see the chat functionality. Conversation data may be reviewed by the Emerge team solely for quality improvement and to provide better support. Your questions and responses are subject to review for feedback and improvement purposes, and we may contact you to help resolve any issues or gather feedback on your experience.


Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is Emerge AI included in my Pro plan?

Yes, Emerge AI is available to Procure OS Pro customers. If you're on the Pro plan but don't see the Emerge AI option in your navigation menu, it may need to be enabled for your organization. Contact your account manager to activate this feature.

Can I access both RFP and TMS data in one conversation?

No, RFP and TMS data are kept separate for security and product integrity reasons. When using Emerge AI in the RFP section, you can only query RFP-related data. When using it in the TMS section, you can only query TMS data. This separation helps protect the value of future analytics products and ensures data governance.

How is my data kept secure?

All data accessed by Emerge AI follows the same security protocols as the rest of the Emerge platform. The AI can only access data that belongs to your organization and that you already have permission to view in the regular platform. Your conversations are encrypted and not shared with other organizations.

Can all users in my organization access Emerge AI?

Access to Emerge AI is controlled at the organization level through admin settings. Your organization administrator can enable or disable the feature. If enabled, user-level permissions will determine who can access it, following your organization's existing access controls in Emerge.

What if the AI doesn't understand my question?

If the AI has trouble understanding your question, try rephrasing it in a different way or breaking it down into simpler, more specific questions. You can also use more direct language, such as "Show me [specific data] for [specific timeframe]" instead of complex multi-part questions.

Will this feature be available on demo or test environments?

Emerge AI connects to production data only. Demo and test environments may not have full access to this feature. If you need to see a demonstration of Emerge AI for evaluation purposes, contact your Emerge sales representative who can arrange a proper demo using appropriate data.

How often is the feature updated?

As Emerge AI is a new and evolving feature, you can expect regular updates and improvements based on user feedback and technological advances. We're committed to continuously enhancing the experience and expanding the types of questions the AI can answer.

Can I export or share AI responses?

Currently, AI responses are displayed within the chat interface. If you need to share insights with others, you can manually copy the information or take screenshots. We recommend verifying any critical data points in the main Emerge platform before sharing with stakeholders.

Who should I contact if I have issues or questions?

If you experience technical issues, have questions about the feature, or want to provide feedback, you can contact Emerge Support through your normal support channels. Additionally, your account manager is available to discuss how to best leverage Emerge AI for your specific business needs.
